Do i know you from somewhere?
Why do you leave me wanting more?
Why do all the things i say
Sound like the stupid things i’ve said before?
Today i wanted to reminisce Madonna’s seventh studio album – Ray of Light. The masterpiece turns 20 this February (Japan) and March (the rest of the world). I am a huge fan of Madge. 20 years! I was in Poznań that day! Time flies. Erotica is her best (concept) album. Ray of Light aged in my opinion. But when i listen to it yesterday and today i have to say it again – it is the masterpiece. I wanted to analyse this album. To praise almost every track but today i read a very good article about this piece of art. So my thoughts would be extremely boring and shallow.
I decide to bake a cake today instead! Baking was always my Achilles‘ heel. I like to cook but i am lousy at baking. Challenge oneself people.
100 g dark chocolate
200 g milk chocolate
½ cup all-purpose flour
100 g butter
1 cup sugar (i used brown sugar)*
4 eggs
1 tbsp of vanilla extract
2 handfuls of chopped walnuts
whipped cream
1 sour cream 40%
1 tsp vanilla sugar
1 tsp greated zest of lemon
Put glass/metal bowl with whisks in the fridge 30 minutes before the whole process.
Pour sour cream into the bowl and start whipping slowly. Speed up. When the sour cream is thick add vanilla sugar and greated zest of lemon. Mix it all well. It is best for use the same day.
Heat the oven to 180C/360F.
Put the chopped chocolates into the pan. Add butter. On the small burner let all melt down. Stir it occasionally.
Put eggs, sugar, vanilla extract into the bowl and mix it well.
Add flour, mix it.
Add chocolate, mix it well.
Add walnuts.
Grease the baking cake pan with butter. Add handful of oats and shake it well while tosing.
Pour the mixture into the baking cake pan.
Bake for 35 minutes if you want to have it soft and wet inside. 45 minutes if you want it drier.
Put the whipped cream on top and enjoy.
* extremely sweet cake! Well, i do not use sugar at all so maybe for me it is extremely sweet.
